Lucy says, "Mom wants to know if you want to go to camp." Linus' hair stands on end and he says, "Camp? Not on your life!"<BR><BR> Linus replies, "Those camps are always out in the woods someplace and those woods are full of queen snakes! Have you ever been chomped by a queen snake?"<BR><BR> Linus continues, "Boy, you get chomped by a queen snake and you've had it! You won't get me near any woods full of queen snakes! No, sir, not me! I'll just . . ."<BR><BR> Lucy walks off and says, "I'll tell her you'll be very happy to go!" Linus wails.<BR><BR>

This dialogue is also heard in “It was a short summer, Charlie Brown,”which premiered a few years later, in 1969. In the special, however, Lucy does this not only to Linus, but to all the boys—Charlie Brown, Schroeder, PigPen, and Roy.

Coincidentally, this was exactly one year after Charlie Brown had this same experience, and met Roy, as a result, whom Linus would meet and befriend this time around.
