Republican North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum said he hopes his state skips the “ideological and political” argument about the use of face masks during an emotional speech Friday as the pandemic continues to severely impact parts of the United States.

“I would really love to see in North Dakota that we could just skip this thing that other parts of the nation are going through where they’re trading a divide — either it’s ideological or political or something — around masks versus no mask,” said Burgum. “

I would say this is a senseless dividing line, and I would ask people to try to dial up your empathy and your understanding.”

Burgum, a staunch supporter of President Trump, appears to be referring to partisan disagreements and demonstrations that have erupted across the U.S. over social distancing measures, stay-at-home orders and the use of face coverings.

If someone is wearing a mask, they’re not doing it to represent what political party they’re in or what candidates they support,” Burgum said as he appeared choked up.

“They might be doing it because they have a 5-year-old child who’s been going through cancer treatments. They might have vulnerable adults who currently have [COVID-19] and are fighting,” he added.

    Speaking of clowns…

    Rex Huppke Satire

    ~

It seems some Americans are confused about President Donald Trump’s extremely strong and very powerful national response to the coronavirus pandemic.

That confusion is understandable, as many Americans are not used to having a president who, by his own expert account, has “a very, very large brain” and also has “the best words.”

It’s not President Trump’s fault you’re confused. It’s your fault.

The coronavirus is nothing to worry about, will likely be gone by April (anyone who says April was last month is a FAKE CALENDARIST!) and the virus is also a Democratic hoax, and a plague.

The number of deaths from the virus are being overblown by Trump-hating death counters, and also more than 90,000 people have died, which is a great success.

If the president had done nothing, millions would have died from this nothing-to-worry-about virus.

Also, the dead are only a small percentage of the population and it was their fault (the dying, I mean) because they were unhealthy, so they don’t really count and technically the COVID-19 death toll is zero.

But we salute them — the hardly any — for being warriors in the great fight against this horribly overblown hoax-plague that could’ve killed millions were it not for President Trump’s great leadership.

What’s important now is that Americans come together and TRANSITION TO GREATNESS by closely adhering to the federal guidelines established by the coronavirus task force.

Americans also need to REOPEN OUR COUNTRY immediately and completely disregard the aforementioned federal guidelines.

Day 30 of the Georgia Economic Recovery.

No Trump Derangement in my posts of course. To borrow the popular trope, I perceive he lives rent free in the heads of our leftist friends, as every post seems to include his name. Babylon Bee has taken to mocking the Chinese by incorporating a phrase every time they mention the head of the country: President Xi, may he live forever. Trump Derangement Syndrome would be less pathetic if our leftist friends showed Bee-like humor.

New allegation of corruption in Comey’s FBI:

The FBI offered Christopher Steele – the man who wrote the salacious and debunked Steele Dossier on President Donald Trump while he was a candidate in 2016 – a significant amount of money to create another document. The new dossier would include dirt on former national security adviser Michael Flynn and other Trump associates.

The Daily Caller’s Chuck Ross reported that the offer, which was made during an FBI meeting with Steele on October 3, 2016, was mentioned in the Department of Justice’s Inspector General’s report that was released in December 2019. Ross noted that this revelation has received little to no media attention.

“But it might have new significance following the recent release of government documents that show that Steele peddled an unfounded rumor that Flynn had an extramarital affair with a Russian woman in the United Kingdom,” Ross reported. “It is not clear how and when Steele came across the rumor, or if it was the result of the FBI asking him to look into Flynn.”

The FBI offered to pay Steele “significantly” to gather intelligence for three aspects of their Crossfire Hurricane probe into four Trump campaign associates. One avenue the FBI wanted Steele to look into was “Additional intelligence/reporting on specific, named individuals (such as [Carter Page] or [Flynn]) involved in facilitating the Trump campaign-Russian relationship.”

The FBI also wanted Steele to find “any individuals or sub sources” that could “serve as cooperating witnesses to assist in identifying persons involved in the Trump campaign-Russian relationship.”

Steele was given information about Crossfire Hurricane and its targets: George Papadopoulos, Paul Manafort, Carter Page, and Michael Flynn. The IG report noted that some FBI agents felt Steele was given too much information.

    By Andy Borowitz

In an effort to dampen the controversy over Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s alleged use of a State Department employee to run personal errands, Donald J. Trump has ordered Mike Pence to start picking up Pompeo’s laundry, effective immediately.

In addition to his new laundry duties, Pence will be solely responsible for walking Pompeo’s dog and for what the White House described as “light housework.”

Reportedly, Pence has already hit the ground running in his new role and is in talks with Pompeo about how he likes his shirts done.

Although assigning Pompeo’s errands to Pence appears to have solved one problem, it may have created a new one, because the Vice-President will no longer be available to perform the personal errands for Trump that have been his responsibility for the past three years, such as fetching cans of Diet Coke and replenishing the Oval Office’s supply of Sharpies.

According to a White House source, those tasks could ultimately fall to Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, should he prove capable of doing them “without messing up.”

While Pence’s appointment as Pompeo’s errand boy raised eyebrows in Washington, it drew the strong support of his fellow White House coronavirus-task-force member Dr. Anthony Fauci. “Anything that takes Mike Pence away from the coronavirus response is a great thing,” Fauci said.

Looks like the Trump administration is doubling down on the corruption allegation against President Obama, may he live forever. McEnany bayoneting the wounded at her press conference:

“So, number one, why did the Obama administration use opposition research funded by a political organization and filled with foreign dirt to surveil members of the Trump campaign?” McEnany said.

“Number two, why was Lieutenant General Michael Flynn unmasked, not by the Intel community entirely, but by Obama’s chief of staff? By the former Vice President Joe Biden? By Susan Rice? By the Treasury Secretary? I mean, this is extraordinary and, you know, if it were political appointees in the Trump administration, I can guarantee you, I’d have questions in my inbox right now, but apparently Obama’s spokesperson does not.”

“Why was Flynn’s identity leaked in a criminal act?” McEnany continued. “It is a criminal act to leak the identity of Michael Flynn to the press, but it happened. Where are the questions to Obama’s spokesperson? Because my team would be running around this building should this have happened under the Trump administration.”

“Why did the DOJ’s Sally Yates learn about the unmasking from President Obama?” McEnany continued. “So much for going ‘by the book’ as Susan Rice said three times, thou doth protest too much, Susan Rice.”

“And then finally, question number five, why did James Clapper, John Brennan, Samantha Power, and Susan Rice privately admit under oath they had no evidence of collusion while saying the opposite publicly?” McEnany concluded.

Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn’s name was never “masked” by the FBI in the document that cited it. It flies in the face of President Donald Trump’s claim that someone illegally leaked it from former President Barack Obama’s administration.

According to the story from the Washington Post, the Republican attempt to tie former Vice President Joe Biden to a scandal that doesn’t exist has failed spectacularly.

According to the report: “in the FBI report about the communications between the two men, Flynn’s name was never redacted, former U.S. officials said.”

On MSNBC Saturday, former Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele advised Democrats how to fight the politically motivated investigation of former Vice President Joe Biden by Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC).

“I’m going to give you the last word on this,” said host Joy Reid. “You have Lindsey Graham pretending to investigate Joe Biden, who used to call him his friend, a piece in which Trump is mad at people like Lindsey Graham, because they’re not doing enough to slime Joe Biden.”

“Look, the investigations into Biden and Burisma and Hunter and all of that — I just have this to say,” said Steele.

“If anybody gets subpoenaed, don’t show up, or if you do, say I’ll show up when all the folks who were subpoenaed in the administration show up, we’ll do this together.

Because the reality of it is, it exposes what this really is about.

This is not about anything serious.

This is not about anything that is, you know, a death knell to the national security of the country.

This is about raw politics and using the agencies of the federal government to go after your political opponents.”

“Everyone should know what it is and call it out for what it is,” continued Steele. “So this investigation is a joke. It’s a sham. I think we need to see that for what it is.”
