Zippy the Pinhead would recommend Ding Dongs with hot sauce. Broomie would look cute (not that she doesn’t already) in a polka-dot mu-mu.

Phew no! It wouldn’t come within 3 inches of my nose, never mind my mouth. I like to taste my food, not burn baby burn.

Now Broomie knows how to eat! Gourmet food at it’s best, and the hotter the better!

@Rich Girse: It’s my understanding (from an article on the history of fighting internal parasites) that the introduction of the capsicum pepper to the Far East gave its people a whole new arsenal in the struggle, in addition to the hot stuff they already had. So maybe it works that way in the peppers’ native Americas too.

In the online comic strip “Ozy and Millie,” a gray fox named Ozy is adopted by a dragon, and he resorts to extra-hot chili to be able to breathe fire like other dragons. Maybe he and Broomie could exchange recipes.

Capsaicin is like salt and MSG. It enhances and intensifies the flavor of the food it’s put on. The “burn” also acts as sensory enrichment, adding more than just taste and texture to the food. The more sensations that get involved with a food, the more appealing it is.

I endured a couple of years in Dallas, and developed a taste for Jalapenos. They are very addictive. Even Texas has some nice things.

I had to get one of those sooner than I thought.

    It was very edible.

hot stuff burns twice once going in and once going out. Coyote;i’ amazed that someone as smart as you would mistake arthritis medication for the stuff that makes pepper hot

Sounds good, but I just bought steak & lobster to barbeque & celebrate the first bat of Spring. ¿I’ve Szechwan sauce? ¡But I’m out of lime! Good lizard lung is hard to harvest.

Had the BK jalapeno burger. Finally a burger that even I say is hot.

And yes Ponytail, the stuff they use in arthritis creams is the same stuff that makes chilies hot. Yum!

I love spicy food. I even grow my own assortment of peppers, onions, garlic, and horseradish so I’m never out. :-)
