@Tineli- What’s Leo, a German dictionary site? It’s a made-up word from Calvin and not real English. Just see panel 2.

Something tells me that “Cretinizer” got in the hands of the wrong people some time ago :)

Hey Binary, completely agree, sounds like someone doesn’t know what a “cretin” is, so they had to look up “cretinizer,” good grief, most people would realize Calvin has his own language! Kids with imagination always make up new words of their own…

I want one.

I think Calvin used it on himself when he failed to prepare for show & tell the night before.

Calvin, like many, is always ready to “Tell.” The showing of facts, details, or results is always the challenge.

I think everyone carries around one of those, all the time.

I’m glad for Calvin that Ronald isn’t Moe. Then again, it would have taken Moe a week to figure out he’d just been dissed.

Using a Cretinizer on Moe would be like using druidic strength potion on Obelix (see the Belgian cartoon Asterix and Obelix). It wouldn’t work; both were immersed in the relative substances shortly after birth.

Not just kids but some adults make up words, of course. I’m hoping that somehow, my own portemanteau “screwballitude” goes viral and enters popular American slang.

Calvin should know that most people are already cretins. It would be more useful to invent a machine to smarten them up. He could call it the “intelligizer.”

I had an invisible weapon like Calvin when I lived in Anchorage and I chased away a thief at Carrs/Safeway with it. He really thought I had a gun and I was only using my hand.

Everyone should use their imaginary weapons!
