In my long history of reading comic strips, I’ve noticed even great ones tend to stall out after about 10 years. Some cartoonists prevent this by retiring. Others are able to expand their universe to keep the writing fresh. Robb does this.
It’s a timely point being made. The only thing I disagree with is that the artistry has been taken to a new level. The art (not the story) has not improved. It looks rushed and slightly unfinished sometimes. The expanded storylines are sometimes very well done. But I do miss Sunny and Jojo and the family as the center.
Hittin’ home. People have been ripping Heart of the City to shreds since it became a whole new strip. Today they’re pouring the Haterade on Rip Haywire. Everyone! Take a deep breath, slowly count to 10, close tour eyes, tap your heels and say “There’s no place like the comics, there’s no place like the comics….”

Hoo boy . . . that’s fandom in a nutshell.
For the uninitiated, “Klondike Ike” is basically about a rivalry between a man in the Yukon and a bear.

Yeah, we know how you feel. Every now and then Robb adds new characters. We are greatly upset.
(He said with a straight face.)

Could be worse. Van Streck could turn the strip over to another artist.

It’s sad how true this is. Some Fans hate charges, even if perfect. Take a lot of time for them to love a new character.

I still hate it, I haven’t been back I 2 weeks. It does no good to complain, nothing will ever change. Tiny print, many times, they never listen

I like your storylines and the characters. There are plenty of comics with no story arcs for those desiring them. You do you!

We all have the RC (Resistance to Change) factor, in some it is higher that in others.
