Once visited an historical house in Salem, MA. It had an all brass clock that only had an hour hand. The docent said that in that era if you got there within the hour you were “on time”.
Back in the day when I was a hiring manager. I had a clock in my office. It was on the wall opposite my desk. I used it to time how long an interview was taking. It was a lot better than looking down at my watch several times during the interview.
I also made a big show of forwarding my calls.
I tired to do my best to impress the candidates that I was taking them seriously.
Hey, this is a fun use for my old cell phone! Seriously, I’m gonna do this for fun and laughs (if and when people ever come to my house again, after our pandemic passes. Until then I’ll still get a kick out of it myself!) :-)
Back in the early eighties I worked for the Salvation Army dispatching the trucks that picked up donations. One afternoon I needed to go out on the dock where the trucks unloaded. I passed a driver who instead of using a hand truck like he was supposed to, was wrestling with a grandfather clock. I looked at him and exclaimed, “Why can’t you use a watch like normal people?”
I have an Apple Watch with cellular. I can send/receive texts and phone calls even when my iPhone is miles away. Unlocks my Macbook without entering my password. It works when I’m in the swimming pool, and oh yeah, it shows me the time also! I can’t stand lugging any cell phone around with me!

I still like wristwatches. And they’re a lot easier than taking my phone out.

Man, I remember how I used to love wearing watches. I had all kinds. But then.. I got a cell phone. I haven’t worn a watch in about 10 years.

I notice in the world of TV, time does not exist, on the screen anyway. Time doesn’t exist on Amazon Silk browser either.
