Addiction comes in many forms. “Willpower” is what people usually speak of who lack a particular addiction.

Will the deception fool Captain Ruiz?

1. I never knew Joe’s middle name was Latimer…and 2. Joe, did you learn anything from last year? Do you want Crunch and Peterson to team up again?

What I like about this strip is that it doesn’t use the cliches of basketball, rap music, or loud mouthed characters like in other black media. It just makes them another family.

But do you have more willpower than last year, Joe?

Smart move Joe.

Still thinking from the recent arc how it would be if they drove a Cheesesteak Truck!

That truck will have a rocky road to follow.

That is reason for name change. Joe will gain weight back.

What I like about this strip is that there’s something to identify with for everybody, and sometimes in more than one “type” of character.

A very sly plan, “Officer Lattimer”! But, in the greater scheme of things…. I am surprised that last time, he did not make himself “sick” of ice cream by eating such an amount. It is kind of a common thing for lots of folks who get a consistent food position like that. A number of my students have talked about how they worked at the various fast food places during different times (Taco Bell, Wendy’s, Papa John’s etc), and how after about 2-3 weeks of the nearly unlimited free (or substantially reduced rate) food…. they couldn’t bare to consider eating it anymore! :)

I’m pretty sure the deception will be spotted immediately. Captain Ruiz knows the names of all of her officers.
