Open other end was at one time printed on the stick. It had to be deleted after a nearsighted visitor to the zoo molested an otter.

This strip brings to mind a series of stickers in the 60’s that all mocked products in the grocery store. For example, “ Wheaties” became “ Weakies- Breakfast of Chumps”. I wonder how manymof them would be politically incorrect now.

If you feel highly offended by this comic strip I suggest that you don’t follow it any more.

I clearly remember “spastic” being used as an insult for a person with a mental or physical handicap. I’m 77 years old and haven’t heard the word used in many years. It is doubtful the cartoonist was aware of the meanness of the word.

“Spastic” used to be the term used in the UK for those with Cerebral Palsy, indeed the charity that supported them was called the Spastics Society. The term “Spastic” however became an offensive term used to indicate that someone was moronic and the charity changed its name to Scope.
