Could have been worse. It could have been Jason helping her trim those bangs.

What on earth are bangs (other than loud noises)? Is this another American thing?

Another bad by-product of COVID 19. DIY haircuts.

Oh, my goodness! My dad did that to me once. I was pregnant with my first – almost due, as a matter of fact – and my mom asked if I wanted her to give me a trim. Now, my mother has trimmed my hair more times than I care to mention, so I was OK with that. However, this time, for the first time, my father decided to “supervise”. He kept saying that it was crooked: “A little more off this side…now a little more off that…” Long story short, my waist-length hair was up to my shoulder blades!

I’ll be darned, she does look like her father.

I actually did something like this the last (and thus far only) time I tried to trim my bangs myself.

That doesn’t look like she cut her hair, that looks like she pushed it backwards.

I did that once, but then, I was three or four.

Which is why we NEVER cut our own hair….

I used to trim my own hair all the time and have since the late 60s. I am wearing it short now so I let someone do it. I may let it grow again, in which case I will cut it. It isn’t hard, especially bangs.

I got fed up and sheep sheared myself with the dog clippers. We don’t have AC, so long hair was unbearable.

I asked my barber, once, how he managed to get my beard to look so even despite my slightly asymmetric face. He said it was actually easy: He just kept cutting until it looked right. Obviously, Paige is unable to see “looks right” when it’s right there in the mirror.

Paige’s line in panel 7 is badly worded; maybe she should say “May I remind you that I’m still carrying scissors”

You comb them forward and pinch them together near the bottom with them held centered to your face. Snip straight across below where you’re holding them. When you let go, they will go into a slightly rounded, symmetrical arc.
