Edison is feeling abandoned at this point, rather than betrayed (which she probably should be). Shaky has left her all alone in a new city where she doesn’t know anyone except Crystal. She did get along well with Crystal, chatting about belt buckles.

Is Mike going to put her in the movies ?  (All she has to do is act naturally.) Will she pay Crystal a visit ?

She’ll have to throw on some shoes to hike it over to Crystal’s house…

So, Crystal has a larger role to play in this story than simply being the comic relief/anti-smoking PSA. Who woulda thunk it? If Edison stops by for a visit, will Crystal continue to play it cool or fess up to knowing who she and Shaky really are? If the truth does comes out it’ll be interesting to see how Mike plays Edison’s reaction to learning that Crystal gave an assist in Shaky’s arrest. I hope they hit off because I actually think middle-schooler Crystal would be a good influence on young-adult Edison in terms of being self assertive. And who knows, maybe Lafayette can give the comely and delectable Edison a good reason to stop dating criminal losers.

And here’s where the trouble starts.

It appears from some of the comments readers are actually taking this lower end soap seriously. Time to leave the house kids, take a short walk, grocery store, read some IDW Tracy.
