People have not been in touch with the numbers involved. If they can produce 12 units a second, they are averaging a million a day. If they are producing for a year, it is not enough for 1 for everyone in the U.S. Whatever solution they find is going to require the production of 300 units a second, packaged, labeled, and shipped for 6 months for worldwide coverage.

With the thought of being the first scientist to cure a worldwide pandemic as motivation, I imagine that a CEO’s threats are the least necessary things going on in any laboratory right now

Just a guess here, but I bet with his resources, Barney could BOTH lead the drive for a cure AND write a sizable check for a food bank — and never break a sweat or notice the dip in his bank account.

The cheap SOB won’t give to a food bank. He probably got stimulus money, too.

I’m not anti-capitalist. I am against callous, unconcerned and patronizing lackwits who think nothing can touch them because they are wealthy. Try buying food, water, and breathable air when the biosphere has been ruined and there are no farmers left to till the ruined earth because they died in the plague you thought was “good for business”.

An effective vaccine must be developed, and that hasn’t happened. Take care, everyone.
