Agnes, I thought the last day of school would be circled on your calendar
“Shake it off?” Trout, that was just another layer of Agnus’ self-absorption!
No quarantine in “Agnes”… after all, it’s a comic world.
But gee… now all the real-life parents who’ve been stressed out from having the kids there all day,
and having to supervise their schoolwork, while they’re working from home, themselves…
can… um… have the kids home all day some more…
with no hope of school starting till maybe August or September.
Ah… togetherness.
Imagine Grandma being quarantined at home with Agnes every day.
Yikes.
Then again, Grandma’s job is in a factory… dunno what kind, but if it’s deemed “essential” she’d be at work anyway.
Can’t run a machine from home.
I’ve never given much thought to what she’s been doing all along about Agnes every summer…
After all, Agnes doesn’t age..
But Ohio in Comics Land is a place much like Ohio was when I lived there, in 1956…
where a couple of little girls can wander around town all day with no supervision, and little danger.
Besides, Grandma is resilient… and she loves Agnes.
She’d cope, like she always does.
PS to Tony… I thanked you on yesterday’s forum for answering.
But just in case you don’t go back and see it…
Thanks!
I can’t tell you how much I love that Agnes never knows when school begins or ends. My favorite was the year she thought it ended a week early and ended up in class with no book because she sold “that bad boy” to someone.
I think most school close 2 months ago – at least? Where has she been going and what has she been doing?
A good song.
