I’ve never heard the name “Thibault” outside of Shakespeare.

Thibault sure is quite the young sexist, is he not?

I had a friend whose last name was Thibault. It’s french and pronounced Tee-bow.

Thibault can be excused. If Patty can confuse Snoopy as a “funny looking kid with a big nose,” it is reasonable for Thibault not to recognize Patty as a girl.

YES! This Peanuts week from 1973 where Thibault threatens Peppermint Patty and Marcie about girls playing baseball finally gets rerun! Hope starting late next week the Snoopy tries to break Babe Ruth’s record arc from 1973 gets rerun!

Those commenting on Thibault’s sexism need to remember: these are KIDS (as portrayed, despite their worldliness sometimes), and as is typical of a boy his age in 1973, he would definitely be against a girl playing baseball. It was the way things were back then…

I won’t talk about why he is blind to PP being the team’s manager and not recognizing that she’s a “SHE”, but that’s on him… :-P

Fun fact: Peppermint Patty has always been voiced by a guy, so it was easy for people to mistake her for one.

I think a threat from Peppermint Patty is not to be taken lightly. And “shredding” is a great word to use in this context!!
