Petitions have lost their impact, especially when they went online. The Governor, City Council, Senators, etc. are not going to open the boxes with the 10,000 pages, and certainly will never know who signed. Attending meetings and town halls have limited success; the greatest power is voting.

I signed a petition once. Ban dihydrogen monoxide! Terrible stuff, especially when it gets in one’s whisky.

My bourbon is 50.5% ethanol and 49.5% hydrogen hydroxide. The others are 40% ethanol cut with the cheaper dihydrogen monoxide up to 60% .
