Hmm, GoComics goes back only to 2001. Someone needs to get busy scanning the first 31 years so we can catch up on the ones we missed! It’s always interesting to see how comic characters change over time. (The original Garfield looked NOTHING like the current one!)
Re. Destiny23’s suggestion: I for one wouldn’t mind seeing a separate page for “Classic Broom Hilda,” reprinting the early strips. We could see old characters like Grelber, jokes about “adult” magazines and movies, Gaylord’s attempts to get a date, Irwin at his weirdest – all the things that make me search used bookstores for BH paperbacks. Any other votes?
@ SherlockWatson..it has been some time since
I’ve heard of the ‘other” Russ Meyers…I think I’d
like to see back issues of “Vixen” and “The Fox” rather
then old issues of Broom-Hilda..Waxing nostalgic..for when the air was clean and sex was dirty..
ya know?..

Don’t forget to count the ones on the back that you can’t see…

In a minute, those two may be on fire. And covered with hot wax, too.

According to Wikipedia, “Broom-Hilda” premiered on Apr. 19, 1970, so in a sense, yesterday was Broomie’s 41 birthday.
Wiki also says Russell Myers was born in 1938. May he live to be 1500 and cartooning all the way!

Thank you Russell Myers for giving us Broomie and her cohorts.

Same here, SherlockWatson :-) I have several Broom-Hilda paperbacks, but I do try to find more :-) I would also love to see “Classic Broom-Hilda” :-)
