Having lived in Miami for many years I would find myself trying to explain certain adages to my Latin friends. “Raining cats and dogs” was really difficult and there are no reasonable explanations I have found that make sense. “That’s just what we say” was reminiscent of a “mom-ism”…
When all you’ve got for a Body is a Foot and a stomach, and your life is spent sucking up Sand to see if there is anything to Eat trapped in it, it’s difficult to be Happy.
