Eventually Agnes will pick a target she can hit.
(Not today, but eventually.)
Remember, Agnes; there’s always Bob! He’s an easy mark!
“Just OK” is a noble goal.
I actually think absolute perfectionism is a curse.
Sometimes I’ve have to make myself back off, when it comes to the 5th draft of something inconsequential I’m writing….
But I’ve always been a “Just OK” person when it comes to possessions … sometimes even an “It might do” type.
That latter, somewhat unfortunately, has pretty much always applied to my life goals… so I never “made something of myself.”
But I think it’s OK.
You’re better off if you don’t always need the best, the newest…
It can even be reverse snobbery…
the most ecological household, the most international social circle… (yes, I do know someone who competes that way)
Whatever it might be that makes some people driven and obsessed…
and incapable of happiness.
Sometimes it extends to hurting those around you…
The spouse who expects perfection in the other…
The parent who MUST have the smartest or prettiest or most accomplished child.
If you can find satisfaction with the hand you’re dealt…
gratitude for the gifts you’re given, however meager…
Just be glad you’re happy!
“Aim low and avoid disappointment” – From someone no one remembers
Just OK is a higher goal than most of today’s people reach or even aspire.
You can never be perfect, but you can be better tomorrow than you were yesterday. That’s what today is for.
