Shady, cool, remote – that is a summertime sleeping porch with an evening of 65 degrees, slight breeze, stars and lightning bugs. What an enchanted evening.

What I love is that Richard remembered to leave the hose running into the bush in the final panel.

Ah yes! If only all wilderness was in walking distance from the house.

Last week, we hiked the north end of Grand Tetons for about 18 miles without seeing a single other person. Pure bliss.

Truth to tell, a lone bush by the water faucet is not exactly a “pristine wilderness,” Alice. Far from being encroached upon by civilization, as that pretty little speech you learned somewhere (maybe a PBS nature show) declares, “your” bush is in fact an artifice of civilization (i.e., Daddy), deliberately planted there to disguise the water faucet!

Time to paint your wagon, Alice, and follow a wand’rin’ star to the frontier.

Haha! I know the scene well, Alice. Sometimes a nice “out of the way” spot can seem like worlds away, even though it isn’t but for imagination. Darn reality.
