Pushing that many carts is hard on the wrists… pulling them via a hook rope too. I could never maneuver that many.

Dang. A lost opportunity to see one of Dill’s brothers.

Methinks Petey wants and needs the antifungal coupon but by asking for all, he’s covering his secret problem need.

This part of the parade turned out much better than I had feared it would! The rattling carts (could be the name for a rock group, like rolling stones) are nicely decorated, and Alice, Dill, and mostly unseen Beni are seated in the rearmost cart, which is far more stable a platform for waving and tossing coupons than the front cart would have been (that’s where I had initially thought they would be). A glorious day and parade, ehh, Madeline? (So what if Peter and Petey turn their attention on the coupons rather than the parade….)

An excess of grocery carts as a parade prop shows America’s consumerism at its best. Shop ‘til you drop, eat ‘til you drop!

Wouldn’t it be great to live in Alice’s neighborhood? Not too close, of course.

This was probably the safest float option from Dill’s brothers.

Expired coupons are the only kind Dill has. He had to divert some from pushing them through mailboxes this week.

wouldn’t the last cart that the “pusher” is pushing be tightly wedged in with all the ones in front? the kids would be unable to ride in it!
