“Sun is shinin’ in the skyThere ain’t a cloud in sightIt’s stopped rainin’, everybody’s in the playAnd don’t you knowIt’s a beautiful new day, …. hey, hey
Mr. Blue Sky, please tell us whyYou had to hide away for so longWhere did we go wrong?Mr. Blue Sky please tell us whyYou had to hide away for so longWhere did we go wrong?"
I confess, I live in a beautiful part of the world in a good-sized house on a fairly large tract of land and have had a more comfortable quarantine than most, I suppose. Didn’t plan it that way — just a function of where I work. I’ve been able to be outside every day without encountering people (except via Zoom, of course).
I am fortunate enough to work from home. I don’t look at a cubicle wall, I look out the window at my garden.
I get up at 5 AM and exercise and take a 4 mile walk. I meet a few people and we can arrange to walk / run around each other at a social distance.
We live on a long cul-de-sac. My wife and I take walks and talk with our neighbors. We don’t normally do that.
I’ve already arranged two family reunions on Zoon which might not have occurred had the participants been “out and about.” The biggest one is coming up a week from Sunday. It has to be at 2 PM EDT. That’s 7 PM for the family in Ireland and 11 AM for the family on the West Coast. I think I’ll keep the practice up even when this is all over.
The pandemic definitely has its negative effects and there is little I can do except my own little part like wearing a mask to protect other people, staying at home except for essential missions like supporting local businesses with take out and social distancing.
However, I can be proactive and mine whatever silver lining this cloud can offer.
I sit out on my porch all the time, smiling and nodding at everybody that goes by. 8,500’ in the Colorado mountains ain’t a bad way to be quarantined. ‘Course, I’ve been “socially distanced” for years…
Sweet freedom! If we get nothing out of this I hope we get a better appreciation of life outside the house. Has anyone else noticed how loud the birds are? Sheesh!
You are my sunshine, my only sunshine / You make me happy when skies are greyYou’ll never know dear, how much I love you / Please don’t take my sunshine away
The other night dear, as I lay sleeping / I dreamed I held you in my armsWhen I awoke, dear, I was mistaken / And I hung my head and cried
You are my sunshine, my only sunshine / You make me happy when skies are greyYou’ll never know dear, how much I love you / Please don’t take my sunshine away
I’ll always love you and make you happy / If you will only say the sameBut if you leave me to love another / You’ll regret it all some day
You are my sunshine, my only sunshine / You make me happy when skies are greyYou’ll never know dear, how much I love you / Please don’t take my sunshine away
You told me once dear, you really loved me / And no one else dear, could come betweenBut now you’ve left me and love another / You have shattered all my dreams
You are my sunshine, my only sunshine / You make me happy when skies are greyYou’ll never know dear, how much I love you / Please don’t take my sunshine away

i’ve been taking my dog to the park everyday, self-distancing from those who have no respect others, stepping to the side or off the side of the trail while they pass by either from behind or coming towards me. some who has come u behind me have acrtually brushed me as they passed by with a couple feet to their left where they could have stepped.

I have a big yard that needs tending two and two big dogs that need exercise. I know what the outdoors looks like around here.
