Well partner, I should be off... you stay outta trouble! Dusty: You too, Phil! Dang. Ah'll really miss that guy. Professor: He was a close friend? Dusty: Yeah... and he just took mah favorite hat.

Perhaps a tribute to Phil Frank the original creator of Elderberries (and the long running very excellent Farley which satirized San Francisco politics) Unfortunately if so Phil is neglecting to mention that he stopped the strip due to ill health, cancer I believe, and died soon after. He is certainly greatly missed.
