Seems like it was a tradeoff, your human identity for eternal life.

Duffy’s wiser than he usually acts — he quickly picked up on the fact that the mass of brushes isn’t one person but a jumbled mass of many. The likelihood of that mass-intellect being insane is high.

And no, Dr. Amesworth, it does not make someone want to hide in a bio-suit for the rest of his/her life. Wally & Co. are transformed into anthros capable of living a reasonably good life (if society and circumstances will let them). Hiding in a bio-suit also carries the perpetual fear that the suit could be breached somehow, sometime and the result could be… less than ideal.

You got to admit, a plague that changes people into toothbrushes is not something most of us would see coming.

Now that I think about it, 2020 isn’t over yet…

I laughed a bit at this. At least one of the commenters in here guessed early on that the people had been changed into toothbrushes. I think they were joking though. I only laughed a bit. Then I wondered how the brushes can become groups-what moves them together in the first place so they can form mobile bodies?

I suppose the first word in the headline is MILLIONS. Or maybe it could be LIONS – that would make the toothbrushes even more dangerous.

One universe’s anthro-mutant plague is another’s brush-mutant plague. I wanna go next door and see the plague of mutant-locusts.

Man, so it is not only that one toothbrush is one person, but one person reduced to a pile of toothbrushes. And now that they are all mixed together, they are incapable of distinguishing where one person ends and the next starts as our kitty-boy has stated perfectly. So we have now one insane hivemind with the minds of the entire global population. That sounds like an impossible to solve Gordian knot.

Mystery solved! This time it was not solved by meddling kids instead it was three anthros and a Topsider.

Except we already know it’s not a ‘plague’ in the normal sense of microbes – it’s some reality-thingy.

I guess my musings that the toothbrushes may be human mutants, turns out to be a good guess. The fragmentation of the mutants and collective conscience was not something I anticipated.

… how do they go to the bathroom while wearing those suits? Also, what kind of filters are in there, and couldn’t they just filter their living spaces as well? (going to back when their living spaces were shown.)

Moreso, weren’t we told “it’s not a virus”— and if it’s not, then how do the suits stop the person from mutating? They have to get their unfiltered air from somewhere.
