With this Slam-A-Thon going on, the alley is going to resemble Act 2 of West Side Story!

My daughter and I went for a little drive this afternoon. A couple of streets up we saw 2 enormous coyotes crossing the street in front of us. They ambled right into a front yard. We figured they were out because it was trash/garbage pick up day. Around here it is obviously “indoor kitties only”

Today is:

National Eat Your Vegetables Day

National Stewart’s Root Beer Day

National Apple Strudel Day (yum!)

National Cherry Tart Day (another yum!).

Global Garbage Man Day. It’s trash night here, so I’m glad we have garbage collectors. I’ll be putting a few bags of trash out for Thursday pickup.

Look out, kitties. If the fleas are looking for “alternate transit”, they might choose you!

My 72 year old body is feeling more like 100 today. I spent 6 hours unloading bookcases, and moving furniture out of the way to put in 2 new pretty green rugs to cover the decades old icky blue shag carpet. Lack of enough space to move everything at once meant I could only do half the room at a time, so I had to lift the bed to get the rugs underneath. It sounds simple but carpet and furniture is heavy to move on your own.

It figures that Chesney would be a natural for insult comedy. Eat your heart out, Don Rickles! On another note, saw a rabbit, a sparrow, a millipede, a yellow warbler, and a robin while out walking today. I also saw two Stellar’s jays outside.
