Actually in the last panel Lizz and Sam just noticed the people reading their adventure.

In fact, here’s some dialogue.

Lizz “Why are those people in their underwear looking at us?”

Sam “That pizza one’s eating makes me hungry.”

Knowing the DT universe, he either has a beard, a glowing personality (little wingy), a magnetic charm (Honey Moon), or reptilian (oh wait, that’s Eraserhead)

Not out of the question for the Plenty baby to be born with a beard considering it’s a boy. Chester Gould did the same thing with Fresh Upp’s baby in the 60s. Anyone remember Little Boy Beard? As for calling him Gooden, I doubt that as he was one of B. O.s brothers. More like Mucha or Havva or sometrhing like that. You can bet it’ll be something unique.

Hi everybody. I have been reading this page for years but have just now joined. I am completely happy and satisfied with the new team–a great boost to the legacy of Dick Tracy.

dkram: I have also noticed the similarity between Lizz and the style of the Archie Comic women. Remember, Stanton used to be involved with Scooby Doo whose characters resemble the Archie style.

YEs! I remember Little Boy Beard. Wasn’t he in the Spots and Ogden the poet series with Fresh Upp and MOthaw? Perhaps Ogden served as wndrwrthg’s inspiration? He is alot better than Ogden EVER was however!

I’m betting he looks just like any ordinary baby - only with B.O.’s head. You know, a scrawny chicken neck, bushy hair and brows, and, of course, beard.

Delivering any baby that looked like THAT would be enough to send any doctor or nurse running and screaming.

The Plenty men have strong DNA - maybe too strong.

Actually Little Boy Beard did turn out to be BO Plenty’s second cousin.

It is B.O. & Gertie’s baby, after all. Did you expect it to be glamorous.

Last time I saw Sparkle, 30 years ago, she was quite glamorous, even though that was before she became Mrs. Tracy. Has Little Boy Beard, or Fresh Upp Plenty been on canvas in the last 50 years?

Okay, again, VAST IMPROVEMENT over the abomination this strip had become in Locher’s hands. But it seems like our debut story had some hanging threads…like, why were the bad guys pardoned by the feds? What was the point of the big rally? If last week’s resolution is really all there was to the story, it seems like half the strips were pointless misdirection.

Nevertheless, I’m still on board and still very happy that Dick Tracy didn’t end his comic strip existence on such a down note.

Maybe it’s this strip’s version of “It’s Alive!”

my guess would be a B.O. look-alike Sort of a Mini-Me from Austin Powers.

Not too many caught it BB, but if any Magpies missed it, they will have to forfeit their Magpie Certificates.

Everybody seems to think the baby has a beard, even though we haven’t seen his face yet (and perhaps we never will?).

Me? I’m imagining the little bundle of joy to be clean-shaven – but with a face that resembles Popeye the Sailor Man! That would certainly send the doctors and nurses screaming from the delivery room!

It appears I’m surrendering my red sweater, because I don’t get it!
