Andy, it’s your own fault for being busy. You can take a day off from laundry now and then.

There’s six of us in our family, and we didn’t have to do laundry every day.

Now here you go again, you want to have the date right. Well who am I to say you’re wrong. Classics are not the right dates we explain again and again. But you just want to gripe, ‘cause the day ain’t right (sung loosely to ‘Now here you go again you say you want your freedom’)

I don’t understand comics like this one — even if it is a little older. She is an adult with agency — let her choose to not work. But it’s like my wife and bathrooms. I tell her I’ll clean them, but my way. She doesn’t like my way (though it is perfectly sufficient), so she does it but complains that she HAS to do it.

Since this is a repeat of a comic strip printed years and years ago.

How can it be Labor Day in the comic when a few days ago, the characters were at school?

The ironing can wait; stop playing the martyr!

My husband & I celebrate our anniversary on Labor Day weekend. Our actual anniversary is 9/3, but we almost never celebrate it ON the day; we take the whole weekend. This year will be 35 years.

But you did it three times.. kind of a glutton for punishment, and now, you want sympathy?

Andy, clothing rule. If it needs to be ironed then the person who bought it, irons it. Suddenly the amount of time I have to spend ironing has dropped to close to zero.

Not that kind of labor, Andy. The rest of the world takes it on May 1. Not in the USA.

I was taught to labor, but I did not learn to love it.
