I have a feeling this will not turn out too well. Didn’t Joe’s partner say some of Natalia’s colleagues don’t like her? That’s a set up for something.

Nope, just have Joe say they have a prior commitment and reschedule. They barely know these people.

There is husband stupid enough to plan something without checking? Every married guy I know has no idea what is on their calendar.

I don’t know what’s worse. Having to go to two social events or the insane traffic.
