Ugh! Licorice! I could never stand the taste of licorice.

Now a mound candy bar :-)…

Penny candy costs ten cents now.

LOL! My Mom always wanted the Butterscotch lozenges and my Dad, the peppermint. None of us liked licorice. I like root beer barrels and horehound drops.

I looooove licorice! My grandfather used to get licorice candy that was to die for. He and I would hoard them, since no one else liked them as much as we did. This year I found a bag of jelly beans that was all black. I’m savoring them.

“Penny candy?” Maybe back around 1965, you really could get “penny” candy for only a penny. In 2011, however, it’s “DOLLAR candy!”

LOVE black jelly beans! Can’t wait for Easter when they come out! Yummy….

How can anyone that likes horehound not like licorice? And for the record, red vines are NOT licorice.

Red licorice is fine. Forget that black yucky stuff.

Licorice only comes in black. That red stuff is not licorice.

The red “licorice” is NOT licorice. It’s Strawberry Flavoured Candy.

The ONLY ‘real’ licorice is the black stuff, made with real licorice.

I tried Amsterdam Double Salted licorice, and it was GROSS!!

I loved Mary Janes, licorice and Black Cows, RC and peanuts.

Now you’re talking! RC Cola and peanuts. But I remember getting a weeks worth of penny candy for a quarter. The little store I used to go to had red or black licorice string on reels and had a yardstick they measured it with and a pair of old rusty scissors that hung from a string that they cut it off with. It was 2 yards for a penny. Gas was 25 cents a gallon and you put 35 cents in a cigarette machine and you got a pack of matches and a pack of cigarettes with 2 cents inside the cellophane wrapper. Now THAT’S dating me. LOL

Boy, this is an old one. Letting kids ride unsupervised and unhelmeted and being able to buy anything more than a box of lemonheads for a Canadian dollar.
