A thought detecting machine is a Pandora’s box we do not want to open. I would much rather give big brother the finger than my thoughts. That is besides the point though, as we have here a moment of great import in Froglandian Lore. A very tense situation with an explosive outcome. Dr. Cleaver was quite elaborate in his scheming and these wires and knobs were nothing more than a convoluted ruse in his plot to tease out the target of his fulminating affections. This shows the brief and tension filled moment before the frenzied congress between an evil genius and Dorrace the Face. Yes, you read that right! This is an historic moment just before the conception of our beloved Grace the Face! Please, everyone, let’s show some respect and stand and salute the plumage!

A thought-detecting machine wouldn’t get a needle-twitch out of some people.

Of course we know what I’m thinking but do either of us know if I’m right.

His machine may only allow him to know that she is thinking, that thoughts are occurring.

It’s probably quite clear to him that she doesn’t think much of his machine. So, in a sense, he is using his machine to determine what she is thinking.
