At first I was going to nitpick and argue that if he got hurt falling off a stool, then this must be from one of those stories where he loses his powers. That, of course, would beg the question, why does he need a kryptonite detector? But if it’s anything like my smoke detectors, it makes little drive-you-crazy beeps when the back-up battery is running low, and so you have to replace it, whether you want to or not.
