Read a book called “Washington’s Crossing”. Notice the painting, that he’s standing in the boat crossing the Delaware. The weather and visibility were so bad that someone had to be standing up just to get some idea of where they were. The terrible weather was an important part of the victory.

D-Day almost didn’t happen and Midway, and the sinking of the Spanish fleet.

I think that is where that saying “The Fog of War” came from.

Battle of Gettysburg: Confederate artillery actually missed its targets ahead of Picket’s Charge due to the huge volume of smoke produced by both sides’ cannon fire.

Good thing the artists chose to draw Union soldiers otherwise they’d have an army of protestors outside of their studio!
