One of the things about growing up is figuring out that secrets aren’t worth it. Except around birthday and Christmas, of course. Their main effect is to increase anxiety and decrease helpful communication.

The hardest thing to keep secret is about a spouse’s upcoming surprise party. And the most fun when you can actually pull it off.

The best kept secrete is the one that no one knows you’re keeping.

Like the one where I … OH DARN, now you know I’m keeping a secrete.

Ever since I met my wife I have had an unexplained urge to tell her everything I know whether I want to or not. She doesn’t even ask for the info. It made for some awkward early dating conversations.
