I’m liking the vehicle designs. And I’m not even bothered by the fact that no crime has been committed, because I feel confident that all of this is leading somewhere.
When I saw the medical staffing running and screaming at the hospital, it reminded me of the 1974 movie - “It’s Alive”
In short, the movie plot was : The Davies expect a baby, which turns out to be a monster with a nasty habit of killing when it’s scared. And it’s easily scared.

Could this be a simliar story to the 1974 movie!!!!!
SUNNY DELL ACRES (panel 1) ! Well I guess, that’s the first soft elbow on Locher’s favorite depiction of the Plenty home, one which by virtue of repetition seemed like a pasteup photocopy panel when you noticed that every little art ‘squigle’ was repeated in every one of them.
Reason for retention was that it was DRAWN by late son John -and so to speak, effectively a third “in strip” MEMORIAL, after the character likeness in newJunior and the Sunday Rubber Ducky symbol
Here it is in all it’s GLORY. Don’t mind the ‘credit name’, the ORIGINAL which appeared in an earlier strip was ‘signed’ by JOHN LOCHER.

I haven’t a problen with a loving father grieving for his son, but enough is enough,(we have MEMORIAL in ‘triplicate’ HERE), and there is a point beyond which it loses a sense of subtlety, becomes borish and is too much ‘in your face’ !
And no Matty, (I KNOW you are reading this), I don’t HATE Locher, just think he let his emotions push him into foolishness.
This goes way back…I think there was a country music TV show that featured Flatt and Scruggs, sponsored by Martha White’s Self Rising Flour. Lester and Earl would sing the jingle, which ended, “It’s got Hot Rise.”
Oh yeah…

I had no idea that John Locher drew Locher’s Sunny Dell Acres.
It’s a beautiful rendering, but it did look more like a mansion rather than a redneck dwelling.
Mr Staton’s is much better.

Unless we’re about to see a really strange villain, he probably isn’t equipped to handle maternal instincts!

Safeway674 -
I remember that flick, and it was an excellent horror movie. Yet another that Hollyweird shouldn’t have tried to make 3-5 sequels with.

Safeway, way ahead of you there. I posted this last week, I think:

WARNING! This is one ugly baby.

I think VistaBill is right. We’ll never see the baby. It will be a running joke for years to come.

Not to change the subject, but wasn’t Sunny Dell Acres located under a highway overpass?
I’m glad it isn’t anymore, btw…

I still think the kid looks like the one from Eraserhead.

Hey, is that a young Quenten Tarantino driving Hot Rize? Sure looks like him…
Really love the art!
And I have NO idea where this story is going (other than the world’s worst Mother’s Day family photo).
