Yep, welcome to the world of Yellow Labs. Of the 2.5 hours they’re awake, they’re eating breakfast, playing with you to get a treat, sniffing under the kitchen cabinets in hope of finding the elusive lost crumb, eating dinner, and somewhere in between taking walks so that they can find rabbit poop or a rock to eat.
Well this is funny but it also brings up a question. Who is the monster? The giant rabbits I suppose. But you’d think that even though the mouse is asking friendly Scratch for advice, you would think that a giant cat could also become a monster to the mice?
I have found that though dogs sleep a lot, they will wake up in an instant when needed. Mine would wake up the second I went to get my shoes on for a walk, or the moment I opened the container of food, etc..

But a cat will snooze about twenty three and a half hours a day.

Surely dogs spend more than an hour and a half a day begging for food.

Cats sleep just as much as dogs. Dogs are quicker at waking up, though. Cats don’t care to wake up fast…

I thought it was cats that slept 22.5 hours a day.

My domestic short hair cat probably sleeps 22 hours a day. 30 minutes of his awake time, is me playing with him, to rid him of the zoomies.
30 minutes is him eating. 20 minutes in the litter box. 35 minutes grooming. 5 minutes is headbutting or nipping at me.

I wonder how the little Gardner is doing, did the rabbit see the accident that the green pirate had?

The monster isn’t that bad. Louie does sleep a lot. The mice could wake him up.
Good evening, Crew!

I still think the mice would be safer around a sleeping Louie than they would around a woken Scratch …
’Evening, Crew.
