I’ve worked in Philadelphia and in Bala Cynwyd (yes, that’s the spelling), a suburb just across the Schuylkill River. One difference between city and suburb is that in Philadelphia, cops patrol on horses or bicycles. In Bala Cynwyd, they patrol on Segways.
Sorry, this one doesn’t make any sense to me. How did Crunchy grow a full beard in a matter of minutes and what’s that got to do with him being assigned to bicycle patrol?
Interesting on long meeting that may have lasted only an hour. Where I live at, not trying to get political, there is a group a subdivision of that group want the local PD here defunded, city is meeting ironic to talk of police budget a different group gave us email’s who are against that group on defunding police.
i think this is a brilliant blending of characters, humor, and topical pertinence – I think they will show us a model which lets the force be with us – instead of policing us
“To build trust and foster goodwill”.Once I came back to work (and computer access) I got back to this strip. I believe that it was at this point that my enjoyment of this strip started to expand to awe. I think that Jumpstart should be required reading by town and city halls across the nation, because it is so sensible! Not defunding—RE-funding! Better screening of police candidates. Classes in anger management and dealing with stress. Classes on dealing with the public. Public programs to improve relationships with the citizenry, which would whittle away at the “Us and Them” attitude that can be found on both sides.Trust and goodwill. (And lots of laughter.)Thank you, Mr. Armstrong.

I like the idea of “To Protect and Serve Our Neighbors.” Now we just hope they use the Biblical definition of “neighbor.”
