If I had a plain blank wall anywhere in my house, I’d try a background.
However my home office looks really nice – I have a bookshelf and airplane pictures and models in the background. The rest of the room looks Like a shambles, but I have the web cam perfectly aimed.
I’m one of the “lucky” ones who has been going into work as normal. There is very little of my job that could be done from home.
But there is a virtual event in early September which I might attend, and for which I’d be required to install and use Zoom. Right now I have tape over the camera, but I’ve been thinking I might want to straighten things up a bit before I remove it.
Security experts caution against positioning the camera to show a background with personal photos or other items that can be captured and misappropriated. I notice that tv journalists, celebrities, and others being interviewed either sit in front of a blank wall or use those fake background scenes.

It’d be funny to take your laptop somewhere interesting and see how many people think the background is fake.

I have a zoom meeting this afternoon. My laptop is in my shop. I hope they like a dirty workbench.
