Sheesh! I know this is supposed to be funny, but still I’m having a hard time seeing it. I voted for Obama and I’m not totally happy with everything he’s done (I think he compromises too much with the Republicans for instance) but it isn’t as if he invented income taxes, and they don’t all go directly into his pocket. Sure he gets a salary as President, but so do the members of Congress and the Senate, including the Republicans and Tea Partyers if that’s who you’re supporting.

I didn’t like G.W. Bush at all but I still had to pay taxes and I didn’t feel that I had the right to withhold them just because a president I didn’t like or vote for got elected. That’s not what taxation without regpresentation means! The REAL Tea Partyers from Revolutionary times would probably turn over in their graves if they saw what was going on now with our modern-day Tea Party.

I’ll answer the question, Dry… he’s too accommodating. Tries to be a great compromise leader like Clinton was. But he doesn’t know when to dig in and fight. But then, his party doesn’t back him up, so when Boner says “you and what army?”, he looks over his shoulder and finds himself standing alone in the field. The other side has been hi-jacked by ideologues who are totally bent on unravelling the sweater of democracy we’ve knitted for 70 years. Full speed ahead, Tea Party – straight to the 19th Century!

Very true, all! I have stopped having a true interest in politics, because I’m a realist - been a totally right wing Independant most of my life, but they all dissipoint! Have to do my taxes this week and it is hard to decide how.

olmail, that sounds like a great description of Obama’s predecessor in many respects.
