Slam dunk for Mrs Olsen!

Mutually Assured Embarrassment?

Standoff. An excellent term.

She is a gem, and amazingly fast on her feet. I think she is the most interesting character in this cartoon and would be crushed if she left.

Caulfield has just learned a valuable lesson. Never, ever assume you know all there is to know about another person, especially one whom you see only in a specific setting. There are vast possibilities beyond that time and place.

A worthy opponent if they ever met one.

Mrs. Olsen is to this strip what rat is to “Pearls Before Swine”.While Goody2Shoes Frazz is the counterpart to Goat and his fiancee reminds me of Zeebra.Caulfield is smarter than Pig, but more annoying, too.Mr. Spaetzle is counterpart to the Crocks. Without them comical relief would be missed. Is missed. I’d like for both of them to appear more often.

Who said Mrs. Olsen couldn’t teach Caulfield anything! This is probably one of my favorite Frazz strips.

Encountering teachers outside the classroom is a major cause of cognitive dissonance.

I am often intrigued on the contrast in the relationships between here and in Big Nate. And yet both are quite realistic.

Seems like a neutral or at least slightly positive attitude (whether genuine or affected) w/b more conducive to learning than someone who appears to not want to be there…

It truly represents detente when Caulfield realizes for himself what her ammunition is.
