Frazz isn’t up to the hard part of teaching (and, of course, he’s not paid to do that)

Mrs Olsen is not mean – just strict and inscrutable.

In past arcs, Frazz has mentioned his aversion to math. After the basics, I’m with him.

I get tired of “I hate math” jokes and statements. Kids hear them from too young an age and it feeds prejudices against math. No one in cartoons ever says “I hate reading class”; we know that would be a bad example, so why are we doing that to math?

Caulfield doesn’t see it, just like I didn’t when I was a kid: Teachers want us to learn more than just the subject matter. They teach us how to get things done, and to function on our own.

I just can’t wrap my head around math beyond the simplest. I don’t “hate” math, but I do not like it one bit.

I have never been good at math and it drives me crazy. Yet I love science and what is in science? Yes, you guessed it. Math. Don’t ask me why. I could never make the connection. Love science, struggled in math, big English and reading guy. I’ll never make sense of it. I always wished I was good at math so I could teach it. Your answer is either right or wrong. No subjectivity.

IDK but you are correct. I have never considered my lack of math talent or knowledge something to joke about. And I never will.
