Maybe Jon, the grasshoppers are attracted because you have too many froot of the loom underwear gone ripe. [Legal notice, commercial copyright is mentioned but I have no affiliate whatsoever to them except that I like to buy them myself.]
Like I said, I miss the days of when Jon actually used to be the straight man to Garfield, but now they turned him into a complete dork freaking out about every minute little thing.
I lived for a short and miserable time in Dallas. My townhouse complex was taken over by crickets. The noise was incredible. They were everywhere. The outside walls were covered in them and they were hopping all over my home. I remember getting a pizza for dinner, opening the box, and a cricket jumped in on top of it and I had to throw it all out. Their legs would get caught in the carpets and they would tear their legs out and I would find cricket legs everywhere.
We were told exterminators couldn’t help because they were mostly outside.
I moved back up north and I was finding cricket corpses in my boxes and my drawers for months. They got in everything.

Arguably one of Jon’s best ever panic lines. Right up there with “I touched seaweed!!!”

Is that worse than ants in your pants? (Not if you use pants in the British sense of the word.)

If it were the same as yesterday, wouldn’t Jon have already known the grasshoppers were there?

Long ago, Garfield became accustomed to Jon’s daily disasters. So nothing surprises him now.

What’s wrong with having grasshoppers in your underware drawer? Would you rather have them in your sock drawer?

It would be funny if they did this comic 2 times in a row
