Hey……..we were travelin’ last week, and actually saw a phone booth just like that…….and it had a PHONE BOOK hanging from it!!!! When was the last time you found a phone book in a pay phone booth????
Last Sunday’s Peanuts rerun was from 1964. It had a phone booth with a phone that went “click-click-click” instead of “beep boop.”Peanuts: May 10, 1964

I don’t think he used a regular phone booth, but rather a help-phone as you can find them along highways in Europe. You need no money for those, just open the little door and pick up the phone and you automatically get connected to the tow-away-service. Normally you cannot dial a number on those, but for the sake of the cartoon, let’s assume you can…
featheredfrog, I had to copy and paste to get there, but a great link. Everybody ought to go take a look. That would be an excellent series, Calvin and Susie’s daughter.
He probably got the dime from the tooth fairy. Before those phone booths, there were those glass boxes with hinged doors. Inside, they usually smelled like someone thought they were outhouses. And, the phone company always sent 2 guys together to empty the coin boxes. In some places, the guys who did that were paid a hazardous duty stipend.
This is without a doubt one of the best! Oh wait, so’s the one where the car goes in the ravine, and the one where Dad tells Calvin they’ll set the Christmas tree up in the garage, and . . . . .
Hi ♥Kab♥ BuchLonewolf figured out that the h1-h6 codes would work to change the font styles. There are only 6 options because these codes are part of the HTML programming language. There are other, more complicated ways to change fonts and colors using HTML, but they may or may not work on this particular site. I don’t know of any other easy shortcuts like h1-h6.

Dad’s going to have to put iron bars on your window(s) and put locks on your door, Calvin. Enjoy your freedom while it lasts.
Good Morning, Marg, Mike & ♠Lonewolf♠!
Thanks for all the tips, Hobbes & ♠Lonewolf♠!

And when Calvin gets home, he finds his window closed and locked. Guess who’s sleeping on the porch the rest of the night!

I wish I had the nerve to do that as a child. It seems that I had limits to what shenanigans I’d pull and Calvin has zero limits whatsoever
