^ I don’t know about 10k times… and obvious extreme exaggeration, especially since that footprint decreases as it creates its small amounts of energy… but I’ve not been fond of wind either. I’m surprised the C-Kennel guys picked up on it.
Does the wind plow at peak usage or has some genius invented a battery/capacitor that will store large amounts of electricity? I think that was the reason FDR abandoned his tidal power plans at Campobello.
Nabuquduriuzhur, don’t forget transportation costs to get the parts to the sites as well. These things, by the hundreds, are also screwing up the NEXRAD Doppler wind velocity readings, as they are a moving stationary object. The algorithm hasn’t been written that can subtract this motion from the environmental flow. This gives off really erroneous returns that screw up the precipitation algorithms as well as the velocity products (wind directions/speeds)
how much maintenence is involved, there’s not a crew on site like there’d be at a plant. The crews have to travel, from mill to mill then farm to farm.

You must be flying through the corridor between Amarillo & Pampa. It seems as though it there’s always a strong wind in that panhandle area.
And yes there are plenty of those things lining the highway there.

No, it’s not safe to fly with your eyes closed any more…
