At least Will isn’t really an aggressive dog, despite being the “big tough guy” of the strip. He just knows how to keep the newcomers in their place.
Oh, and for everyone saying that some strips are repeats, please remember that before the strip was on GoComics, it was in a “testing phase” and not in syndication while they worked on gags and character designs (Will sure got ugly for awhile). So naturally they’re going to re-use the strips that got the best responses now that they’ve been syndicated because they’ve never been seen by newspaper readers or people who didn’t know about the strip until it was on this website.
StelBel, in case you see this, I came across this strip some time ago when it was in development over at CreatorsSyndicate.com, I was hooked after the first strip I read!

Xane…Who cares? I just love the strip and look forward to it every day.
Some doggies got big teeth, some doggies have small teeth. But I yelp when any of them sink into my arm. Ohhh, that smarts.

When I did census I wore a leather work glove on my left hand and carried a sharpened pencil in my right……………

I don’t know why Will’s in the pound. He should have a job at the quarry crushing rocks into gravel!

Just like a junkyard dog I met in E Baltimore.
That dog used cinder blocks as chew toys.

Like Florence Ambrose of “Freefall”, who doesn’t need to show strength.
