You get points for having your helmet, but lose them for not checking the weather report before you chose your daily ride. It’s way to easy to lay that puppy down in the rain. And since YOU WILL LAY YOUR BIKE DOWN at some point(ask any experienced rider) you should always have a set of leathers on.
Back in the Navy I parked illegally (everyone was a half-space over in the packing lot) and lost my parking decal for a month. But they didn’t take the one for my motorcycle and had to ride that rain or shine. I soon put a windscreen on it. I’ve also ridden through some tremendous thunderstorms on long trips. Not fun but all part of the package.
They have a Great gear for use during bad WX. I can ride in any Wx,down to 30deg. Care must be taken, look for leaves, wet, black ice and astounded Cage drivers, too. Peace.
I’ve ridden many miles in the rain. Always have a rain suit handy and a good windshield. I never laid a bike down in rain, but hit oil in the road in Dallas and laid it down with wife onboard. Been riding 62 yr. I’m about to downsize Harley to something smaller and lighter. Grey will learn. Ride like you are invisible.

What’s not to like; that guy who doesn’t see you, and pulls right out in front of your scooter.

Got stuck riding in the rain once. It was like being sandblasted with pea gravel.

Rode a motorcycle to work in the 80s (my only transportation at the time.). 6F was a bit of a PITA at 50-60 MPH. Rain not so much

There is no such thing as bad weather. Just inappropriate clothing.
