My school didn’t have any bleachers.

i was well into my 20’s before I reached 1st base, and had lost interest in the game by the time I got an opportunity to get a home run. It’s been almost 20 years now since the last time I got to first base.

I was a music geek. Bleachers, smeachers – practice rooms were much better :)

1970 was 51 years ago, more than half a century ago. Oh, and I was (already) out of college. Had there been such a girl, and there wasn’t, she’d be in her seventies and second base has slid too close to home plate. Gross!

Both panels are correct (not quite as lascivious as the events in the second panel but some songs do remind you of past girlfriends…)

When I was young, I broke up with a guy who tried to steal second base before I was ready!!! I think it must have totally confused the poor guy because I never explained why I did it!

He’s remembering when we used to sing, “Sha la la la la la la la la la la de da”

Kinda makes me wish people hadn’t stopped making decent music forty-odd years ago.

Oh well, until people start making good music again, there are always the classics to listen to.
