In the Marines, we used to call this “Mandatory Fun.” It was a kissing cousin to being “voluntold.”

One of the best bosses I ever had watched me bust my a$$ for 2 months to install new comm equipment, run network cable all over the office, and then spend 67 hours in a week prepping for an inventory. He told me to take my fiancé and plan a 3 day weekend at an expensive resort and put the whole thing on my expense report. Same guy also had me go to the computer supply store after work hours and take my fiancé to dinner each visit. Hated leaving that company.

I thought during this administration there would be no malarkey.
