Many of the newer tents are much easier to erect, and there are always RVs. But if you prefer room service, maybe………

As a boy scout, I was taught to read directions, and follow them to a ‘T’ … no one mentioned that there are no curse words that start with “T”.

I hate camping. I was forced to do it a few times as a kid but I haven’t done it since in years. What do people find so appealing about it anyhow? Sleeping on the hard ground, getting eaten up by the bugs and, to top it all off, there’s no decent, private, sanitary place to shower or go to the bathroom!!! It’s completely beyond my comprehension.

I still have my Dad’s old pup tent from his military days in WWII. My brothers and I used it extensively for backyard camping and it came in handy later in Boy Scout adult leader training. Not all that hard to erect once you know how, but a PITA to fold up correctly. (Dad would examine it to be sure you did it right.)

Part of Ellie’s problem is she’s putting in the tent pegs last. Much easier to get tension if the pegs are put in first.
