What the heck is he talking about? Broccoli is great, particularly if it is smothered in cheese sauce.

That’s the problem, you gotta smother it in something, otherwise it’s toxic waste…

Green beens are far worse, Henry.

And of course, Nate, you handle the changing of the seasons in a downright stoic fashion. :)

If you don’t want to go the cheese sauce route, broccoli and cauliflower can both be made tasty by roasting them in a hot oven with olive oil and garlic.

I love broccoli – especially lightly sautéed.

Canadian, you have to do things to lots of food to make it taste good. It’s called cooking.

Green beans and limas are yummy (so long as they’re not store canned). Broccoli is nasty, unless, as has been noted, it’s smothered in cheese sauce or sauteed in stir fry sauce. Which is to say, something good has overpowered it’s actual flavor.

Growing up my vegatable problem was asparagus and brussel sprouts. I actually enjoy asparagus now. However I still have issues with brussel sprounts. I need to be in the mode to eat those things, but luckily that isn’t very often. It wouldn’t be so bad if they actually tasted okay – however not even a lot of butter on them can hide the taste.

Fresh broccoli is good in a salad. Cabbage is an indication that someone was hungry enough to investigate the compost heap. Brussel sprouts ain’t fooling anybody, they’re little cabbages.
