If this is meant to point to something new, it’s been going on for years. As I recall, Damon Bailey committed to Indiana as an 8th grader, but I don’t remember him doing all that much in the NBA. David Robinson, on the other hand, grew a few inches after entering the US Naval Academy and the rest is history.
Does Tank’s past “Football” career make him any less a sports caster than any of us who didn’t have a sports career. It’s a Cartoon and NOT the point of the strip.

very sad, but also very true. ESPN showing HS games on national TV does not help at all.

Kind of a general question: Does anyone know what position Tank McNamara is supposed to have played?
The references and background in the strip keep changing, and I’ve always wondered about that, just a little.
