Heart of the City by Steenz for May 04, 2011

Heart: Why does all the really hard junk I have to do for school always hit just as the weather gets nice?! Mom: Maybe your schoolwork just seems harder because the weather is nice. Heart: You're really underestimating the cruelty factor of teachers, mom. Mom: All of us adults are in cahoots.

I remember 1 day in high school, it was so unexpected that it still stands out in my head, Went to German class and a note was on the door for directions to the first tree outside the main entrance. Got there and the teacher told us for the rest of the week class would be out there as she (the teacher) was sick of being stuck inside.

Aren’t cahoots itchy?

I’m finishing up my first semester as a student, after dropping out of college 25 years ago. It seems like most courses have a big project due the week before finals, so I’m with Heart on this one.

@ Darkeforce - me too. It’s awfully hard to be in cahoots by oneself. :p

Smiley R Mom, as a college senior just finishing similar projects and exams, I must agree. Though with all the tornadoes and thunderstorms in the general area I live in last month, I can’t say the weather has been all nice.

I’ve always wished my company didn’t set huge deadlines for the end of June every year…. I always waste the first half of my summer working 80-hour weeks! :(

girlgeek: could that be because many companies start their fiscal year in June? I used to see this in state government. Gotta spend that budget NOW, or we’ll get less in the next fiscal year. The numbnut who decided on this arrangement for accounting must have been a sadist. Or maybe he was allergic to bees or something… Anyway girlgeek, you could always drop out of corporate culture and follow your dream….
