This brings to mind an old sitcom called “Green Acres;” a “fish out of water” comedy wherein Oliver and Lisa left behind their Manhattan life to live in the country as farmers. Neither has any idea what they are doing, but they try their best.

In one episode, Lisa’s pancakes are so tough Oliver is able to use the batter to make a new head gasket for their tractor. Perhaps Rip is eating the same sort of pancakes?

I don’t know about immortal, but he’s certainly very hard to kill. Now, how far is that beach from civilization.
